2010 Remove “Shared Folder Synchronization” from Desktop Context Menu

Post by Ryan »

Ah yes, the age old, "WTF is this doing in the desktop context menu?".

Removal is fairly straightforward, but does involve use of the Registry Editor.

To begin, hold down Win+R on your keyboard to bring up the run dialogue.

Now type in:

regedit.exe

Navigate to the following key:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{6C467336-8281-4E60-8204-430CED96822D}

You'll need to delete the key called:

{6C467336-8281-4E60-8204-430CED96822D}

It is strongly recommended to save a backup of the key before deleting it, in the event you selected the incorrect key accidentally.

Success!
