iOS 7 Downgrade for iPhone 5S?

Post by Rhapsody »

Is there a downgrade method to iOS 7.x for the iPhone 5s?
With my iPhone collection, I prefer at least most of my iPhones to be on their factory firmwares (like the 3GS on iPhoneOS 3, and the iPhone 5 on iOS 6)

I know I'm late, but unfortunately not.

Apple introduced a Secure Enclave Processor with the 5S, which HAS to have a signed firmware. There are no known exploits for the SEP, so you'll only be able to use the 12.5.5 SEP firmware, or the 10.3.3 SEP firmware. Either one will not work with iOS 7, 8, 9, and 10 up to 10.1.1. Unfortunately, tethered downgrades are the same way... so your only options are 10.3.3, 11.3-12.5.4 (if you saved blobs for these versions), and 12.5.5. Also, there isn't a dualboot method unfortunately.

As much as we'd all love to downgrade our 5Ses to anything before 10.2.1 (when Apple changed the power management setup in iOS to slow your device down if the battery is older), it's not possible at the moment. Someday we'll see some achievements, trust me. There are still a good amount of people still experimenting with older iDevices in their free time.
