Contained in this archive are resources used to convert Windows 7 to be as reasonably close to Vista as possible. There are some CustomizerGod resources you can apply yourself manually, but we don't support this method and you're on your own reaching feature parity with our pre-modified files. The pre-modded files can be used on most patch levels, except for shell32. Do not apply a version of shell32 outside of your patch level, as you run a great risk of frying your install. We provide versions of shell32 from early 2018 and late 2021. We are not responsible for any damage done to your system. Please use these files responsibly as they are released as-is.

Hope others can enjoy this as much as we've had with it

Attached is a list of commands to register various program DLLs to (eg Photo Gallery) in case of errors. The following will register:
  • DVD Maker
  • Photo Gallery (viewer only)
  • Windows Sidebar
Also included is an alternate explorer.exe. This uses the library icon resource from Windows 7 Build 6608, as its color suits the Vista UI quite well.

Moreover, I have attached an alternate shell32.dll.mui. It removes the non-functional installed RAM column from the bottom, and changes the build number back to 7601.
